This really is a fabulous part of the UK. To the North lies the Lake District with its incredible scenery. Head just a couple of miles West and you'll find yourself stood on the shores of the Irish Sea.

The mountains and valleys of North Wales are just an hour South and if you head East you'll soon be in the Pennine Hills and the Yorkshire Dales.

A variety of memorable tourist towns are all within easy drive. The historic and dramatic University town of Lancaster, where Lancaster Castle is still standing, boasts theatres and the 38 acre Williamson Park with it's tropical butterfly house and exotic bird aviary.

Lancaster is alive with carnivals, music, folk festivals and organised walks.

For walks with a more rural feel we highly recommend the beautiful Lune Valley and the South Lakes where you can easily explore unspoilt walks and trails.

The more sporting amongst you will love the golf, freshwater fishing, the odd cricket match and horse riding that the area offers.

If you are of an artistic persuasion then there are many fine craft and pottery centres, traditional furniture makers and a thriving fine arts community... all within easy reach of Fold House.
